See Yourself IN High School Summit

The See Yourself IN High School Summit brings together students, educators, and employers for a day of discovery, keynotes, real-talk career panels, and interactive demos that showcase Indiana’s pathways from classroom to career. Hosted by CICP with its talent and industry initiatives, including BioCrossroads, plus partners at 16 Tech, the Indiana Department of Education, and Ivy Tech.

This event provides students with a unique opportunity to:

  • Learn about real careers, not just titles.
  • Explore and experiment with tools and activities that help show the real-world work experience.
  • Discover clear paths available in Indiana.

The annual SYI Summit also includes interactive demonstrations and activities, including virtual reality job simulators, provided by our partners at iXplore.

Career Pathways Panel + Networking

Who Should Attend:

First- and second-year IU Indy students exploring paid, work-based learning and career paths in the life sciences and allied industries.

Meet leaders from Indiana’s life sciences and innovation ecosystem, learn about paid work-based learning (including Lilly’s new Co-Op), and stay after the panel for informal networking.

  • Discover high-demand career paths across life sciences, agbiosciences, advanced manufacturing, logistics, technology, and talent/workforce development, and the skills employers value most.
  • Learn how the Lilly Co-Op Program gives IU Indy undergrads paid, hands-on experience and mentorship, starting as early as sophomore year.
  • Network with leaders from CICP affiliates (BioCrossroads, Conexus, AgriNovus, TechPoint) and partners who help connect students to internships, apprenticeships, and early-career roles.

This paid one-week training experience, scheduled for summer 2025, is your opportunity to discover the fast-evolving world of biopharmaceutical manufacturing—one of the most in-demand sectors in the healthcare industry today.

With the week’s base camp at Purdue University’s downtown Indianapolis location, The NIIMBL eXperience @ Purdue University offers a rare opportunity to engage in hands-on training that bridges academic learning and real-world application. Gain unparalleled exposure to the intricacies of pharmaceutical manufacturing, from understanding the science behind drug production to the introduction of cutting-edge technologies that are shaping the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing.

In addition to the in-depth learning experience in collaboration with Purdue University, Ivy Tech and BioCrossroads, participants will visit top pharmaceutical companies such as Eli Lilly and Simtra, gaining perspectives on how these leaders operate in the pharmaceutical industry. These visits provide a unique behind-the-scenes look at how life-saving medicines are produced at scale.
