Apprenticeships & Talent Pathways
INCAP: Your Employer‑Led Apprenticeship Engine
Design the roles, skills, and pathways that will power Indiana’s life sciences and healthcare workforce for years to come.
Say hello to your next wave of smart, driven, well‑educated employees. Indiana is entering a new era, one where employers unite with a shared voice to shape workforce priorities and take the lead in educating and training new talent. Through the Indiana Career Apprenticeship Pathway (INCAP), life sciences and healthcare employers are helping define what great early‑career talent looks like and building clear, paid pathways into those roles.
As the designated Industry Talent Association (ITA) for both life sciences and healthcare, BioCrossroads brings employers together to identify high‑demand occupations, define the knowledge and skills required, and partner with educators to build the training that gets students ready for real careers.
What Employers Do in INCAP
INCAP is employer-led by design. Employers help define where apprenticeships will have the most impact and what success looks like.
Employers in The Science ITAs Work Together to:
- Identify priority occupations for youth apprenticeships (e.g., lab, manufacturing, clinical support, data/IT roles)
- Define the knowledge, skills, and competencies apprentices need to succeed
- Partner with schools and training providers to shape aligned education and real-world work experiences
What Apprenticeships Look Like at Your Company:
- INCAP youth apprentices spend multiple days each week onsite with you, earning a wage while contributing to meaningful work. For employers, that means motivated early‑career talent who support day‑to‑day needs while building long‑term potential.

shape work-based training programs.
