As federal reform calls for healthcare to be more accessible and affordable for all, providers and payers are developing solutions to cut costs and maintain quality of care while accommodating the mandate and, more importantly, patients. Telehealth, the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support clinical healthcare delivery, is innovating healthcare delivery by allowing healthcare providers and patients to interact and manage minor health issues (think the common cold, ear infection or sinus infection) without the need for an office visit or unnecessary trip to the ER in the middle of the night.
However, without federal definition or guidelines for telehealth, innovation in this arena is being hindered. Today, many states are silent on telehealth while regulations in other states vary widely creating difficulties for technology companies, payers, providers and the entire healthcare delivery process. In the next Frameworx session on August 20, 2014, experts from organizations experiencing this hindrance will discuss the need for federal guidelines, as well as current solutions. John Jesser, General Manager, LiveHealth One, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield will deliver a keynote followed by a panel with Dr. Brian T. Heimer, Member of American Health Network, Dave Wortman, Chairman and CEO, Co-Founder of Diagnotes, and Pat Cross, Partner at Faegre Baker Daniels.
Please join us for this Frameworx session which will take place at D’Amore the 48th Floor of Chase Tower at 111 Monument Circle in Indianapolis. Networking over coffee, tea and muffins will start at 8:00 a.m. and remarks start at 8:30. Parking is available on the street level and in the garage located on Pennsylvania between Ohio and Market.
