Indiana Career Council Guide: A Guide to Talent Attraction and Development for Hoosier Employers
According to a recent Brookings Institute report, Indiana has the third most advanced industries (fields such as life sciences, computer science, auto manufacturing) jobs in the U.S. It’s critical that the Hoosier workforce is prepared to enter these high-skilled science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) intensive jobs. In the next Frameworx session, corporate, government, academic and non-profit leaders will discuss current initiatives that are addressing the K-12 STEM issue, why it’s important to the future of Indiana and specific efforts to enhance quality STEM education.
Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann, who earned a doctorate in engineering and is dedicated to advancing STEM education, will provide remarks from the State’s perspective. Following her keynote, a panel discussion among leaders in corporate and education includes:
- Anne Shane, Consultant, BioCrossroads
- Rob Smith, Senior Director – Corporate Responsibility, Eli Lilly and Company and President – Eli Lilly and Company Foundation
- Vince Bertram, President, Project Lead the Way
- Stephanie Bothun, Director of Education Initiatives, City of Indianapolis
- Dr. Dena Cushenberry, Superintendent, MSD of Warren Township
This Frameworx session will take place on March 4, 2015, at D’Amore on the 48th floor of the Chase Tower on Monument Circle.
