Indiana has a strong network of sophisticated healthcare providers that serve as an engine for driving innovative products and companies in their own right, as well as through strategic relationships with the State’s medical technology companies. Yet, increasing quality, cost accountability and heightened scrutiny on physician‐industry relationships are hindering innovation in the current healthcare environment.
In this session we’ll address the major factors influencing care delivery and innovation today and begin to identify solutions to leverage innovative technology development by clinicians and industry so that we can together improve the quality and efficiency of care leading to better patient outcomes and cost savings. We’ll hear from a panel of experts comprised of practicing clinicians, academic researchers and industry professionals:
- Michael E. Berend, MD, Midwest Center for Joint Replacement
- Laura Lyons, VP Clinical/Quality/Regulatory Affairs, SonarMed
- Charles McIntosh, MD, Chief Medical Science & Technology Officer, COOK, Inc.
- Anantha Shekhar, MD, PhD, Director, Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute
