More than a decade ago, BioCrossroads identified a great need for an organized platform where healthcare systems in Indiana could share vital patient information to improve the health of Hoosiers. The idea was spurred by the incredible work and research coming from Indiana’s own Regenstrief Institute and the healthcare industry’s demands for better patient outcomes.
Today, the Indiana Health Information Exchange operates the nation’s largest health information exchange, providing a secure, interoperable health IT network that connects over 100 hospitals as well as payors, government agencies, health clinics and other healthcare providers. Beyond our borders, IHIE is working with partners to create a platform that will link healthcare systems throughout the country.
In this session, John Kansky, President and CEO of IHIE, will give an update on the progress of the organization as well as share the strategic plan for continued success. The panel following will illustrate the national health information exchange story including how IHIE’s past success and current vision have helped shape the industry.
