New location, new format highlight conference

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., July 10, 2019 – BioCrossroads today announced its agenda and launched registration for the 2019 Indiana Life Sciences Summit on Sept. 26 at the Indianapolis Marriott North. The full-day Summit kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with the scientific session, business track, and poster session and ends with the Cook Medical and Eli Lilly and Company Networking Reception. Several announcements about Indiana’s life sciences sector are expected as well, including a new challenge competition and the annual Watanabe Life Sciences Champion of the Year Award.

Delivering the same number of sessions and speakers in one full day versus two half days, the speaker line-up includes TED-like talks from life sciences leaders who will discuss artificial intelligence in healthcare and the life sciences. Speakers include Sanji Fernando, Vice President at OptumLabs, a collaborative research and innovation center, dedicated to improving patient care through data sciences; Kiersten Stead, Ph.D., Managing Partner, DCVC Bio, a venture capital firm focused on applying “deep tech” to transform the life sciences; Berk Tas, CEO, Sentiar, a start-up that has created a 3D augmented reality platform featuring real-time holographic visualization of the patient’s actual anatomy as well as life sciences leaders from Eli Lilly and Company, Covance, Regenstrief Institute, Recursion Pharma, Google Ventures, Wuxi NextCODE, and more.

The Scientific Session will focus on neurosciences research with renowned researchers including Bruce Lamb, MD, Director of the Stark Neuroscience Center and Iliana Apostolova, MD, MSC, FAAN, The Barbara and Peer Baekgaard Professor in Alzheimer’s Disease Research and Professor in Neurology, Radiology, Medical and Molecular Genetics, Indiana University School of Medicine, and who was awarded with the largest National Institutes of Health grant ever given to IUSM for her research on early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
